===== What is a Pibox ? =====


A Pibox is a Raspberry pi and dedicated software to turn them into a Swiss army knife for radio.

With a Pibox, you can (via its dedicated web page) :

use its outputs to :
  * send sound to an Icecast server (opus or mp3) (you can broadcast on several Icecast servers if needed)
  * send sound to the output of your sound card connected to the Pibox
  * save/record sound on the Pibox (wav, opus or mp3)
  * broadcast sound on FM (87.5 to 108.0 MHz) from the Pibox with a simple antenna (wire or dipole)
 
use its inputs to :
  * play sound from an http or https link (one or more at a time)
  * play soundfiles from a playlist (many codecs supported) (one or more at a time)
  * receive the sound input from your sound card connected to the Pibox

Each output and input have their own volume and panoramic.

Mix all the inputs as you wish and send them to ouputs of your choice. 
Save your configuration. The next time you start your Pibox, it will use this configuration (in this case, no screen is needed).

You can also use Pibox like a PirateBox : a space is dedicated to share/download/upload/managed files stored on the Pibox through its open wifi access. Playlists (or records) created from the Pibox take (put) sounds from (to) this place.
